Basani Duiker

Basani has been appointed as acting Chief Procurement Officer of Transnet Freight Rail, responsible for leading the Supply Chain Management function and overseeing the acquisitions of goods and services in the freight logistics business.

Previously, she was the General Manager for Supply Chain Management Governance, Risk and Compliance (SCM GRC), that was responsible for the design and implementation of Transnet Group’s SCM system. She set SCM and Preferential Procurement Policies, Procedures, and delegations of authority for the organisation and implement them across six operating divisions.

She possesses vast knowledge and skills in Business Administration and Management, Supply Chain Management, Governance, Internal Auditing, Risk Management, Compliance and Finance that she acquired through formal education and work experience in Government, Transport and Logistics, Fast Moving Consumable Goods (FMCG), Financial services and Education industries.
