Mary is a News, Media and Corporate Communications professional and award-winning media leader. She is a certified international media trainer and coach.

Ms. Papayya has a wealth of media and communications and strategy experience and critical knowledge in the SOE space, having served on the Board of SABC and other Boards. She served in senior editorial positions across the media and communications landscape including SABC, Kagiso Media, Times Media Group, as well as in individual media entities, including Sowetan, Sunday Times, Business Day, East Coast Radio, Ukhozi FM/Lotus FM, Capital Radio.

Mary also worked with many international media including the BBC, VOA, RFI to name a few. She has also served as a strategic communications consultant to various private sector and government entities in South Africa and on the African Continent. Ms. Papayya has several postgraduate University degrees and qualifications including an MPHIL (Journ), Stellenbosch University.
