Lindiwe Sibidi

Lindiwe Sibidi has been appointed as Acting Chief Information Technology Officer, effective August 2024. She is a seasoned professional currently serving as the General Manager of Network Engineering at Transnet Group ICT, where she is responsible for overseeing the strategic direction, development, and implementation of network infrastructure and services within an organization. Her role combines technical expertise with leadership skills to ensure a robust, stable, secure, cost-effective, and fit-for-purpose network that meets both current needs and the future aspirations of Transnet.

With over 17 years of experience in telecommunications, Lindiwe has progressed through the ranks after starting her career as a network specialist at Vodacom. She seized the opportunity to participate in the Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert programme, where she developed her technical expertise and achieved multiple projects. She later led multiple teams at Liquid Telecoms, where she was overseeing the Network Operations Center, Change Management, Contact Center, and Managed Networks, ensuring 24/7 network availability. Her leadership and strategic vision have been instrumental in insourcing key functions and restructuring to align with the company's strategy. She is a strategic thinker with an extensive technical background, leadership skills, and a proven track record of operational excellence, and she continues to drive innovation and efficiency in her current role. As she steps into the role of Acting Chief Information and Technology Officer, Lindiwe’s foremost priority is to guide and lead the transformation journey of digitalization in the ICT and Technology Management environment, creating a resilient, agile, and future-ready network infrastructure that supports Transnet’s strategic objectives and drives innovation, ensuring support to operations to ensure achievements of the set targets as per the recovery plan, and a great focus on people, processes, and technology to create synergy where improvement is required. She looks forward to collaborating and integrating with the teams as they collectively push to achieve the company's objectives.
