Faculty of Engineering & Pipelines

Training with a particular focus on artisan trades and pipeline operations

The Faculty of Engineering and Pipelines is one of the main faculties of the Transnet Academy formed through the merger between the former School of Engineering and School of Pipelines

We have six main campuses situated in 6 of the 7 Metropolitan Municipalities in South Africa. Our main areas of operation includes Germiston, Koedoespoort, Park hill, Pinetown, Bloemfontein, Uitenhage, Salt River and Durban

Our services are geared towards skills development targets & quality standards to support rolling stock availability & reliability for Transnet Engineering (TE) as well as well ensure full-suite of world class, best practice service for hydrocarbon and gas pipelines for Transnet Pipelines (TP)

We provide accredited technical and operational training to Transnet Engineering and Transnet Pipeline employees as well as various sectors of the South African community and SADC region. Our flagship programmes include artisan development, Pipelines fuel controller and Engineering development programmes

Our Artisan and Pipeline fuel controller programmes are registered with the Quality Council for Trades and Occupations (QTCO) and accredited with the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA)

These are delivered through highly qualifies trainers, moderators and assessors and in partnership with various training institutions including TVET colleges, Universities etc
