TRIM Tariff Proposal for the 2025/26 Financial Year Now Available for Public Comment
The Transnet Rail Infrastructure Manager (TRIM) has released its Tariff Proposal for the 2025/26 financial year, now accessible online for public review and stakeholder engagement. This document outlines the proposed rail access tariffs for the upcoming financial year and reflects TRIM’s commitment to maintaining a sustainable, transparent, and efficient rail infrastructure network.
This public consultation process aligns with the Government Gazette Notice No. 52071, published on 7 February 2025, and the Department of Transport’s circular, inviting all interested and affected parties to submit written comments to the Interim Rail Economic Regulatory Capacity (IRERC).
All interested parties, industry stakeholders, and the public are encouraged to review the Tariff Proposal and provide their feedback. Comments should be submitted within 21 days from publication, no later than 28 February 2025, as per the Government Gazette notice.

A Virtual Information Gathering Session will also be hosted on 25 February 2025 at 09h00 to allow stakeholders to discuss the proposal. To attend, please register by 20 February 2025 via email at irercsec@dot.gov.za.
TRIM remains committed to open and transparent engagement throughout this process. The tariff proposal is based on extensive analysis and financial modelling to ensure the long-term sustainability of South Africa’s rail infrastructure. Further refinements may be made as additional data and stakeholder feedback become available.
