Samantha Subiah

Samantha holds an Legum Baccalaureus (LLB) Degree from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and an International Diploma in Intellectual Property from the College of England and Wales. She is also a conveyancer accredited by the Law Society of South Africa. Her recent achievements include achieving a Legum Magister (LLM) Degree in Maritime Law.

Samantha has built an impressive professional career having started as an attorney at Van Onselen O'Connell Attorneys where she served as both an attorney and a candidate attorney. She then joined Riaz Haffejee Attorneys. Since 2010, she has been associated with Woodhead Bigby Attorneys, where she progressed to become a director and partner. Her work primarily focused on litigation, catering to clients in both the private and public sectors. She is an admitted attorney and conveyancer of the High Court of South Africa and a member of the Legal Practice Council who possesses extensive knowledge in corporate law, commercial law, insurance law, and high court practice.

In her new role as General Manager: Legal, Risk, and Compliance at Transnet Port Terminals, Samantha will provide strategic leadership and guidance in ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements. She will also focus on risk management and mitigation, as well as uphold good corporate governance practices. Her expertise will be instrumental in safeguarding Transnet Port Terminals' interests and reputation, offering professional legal advice and services to protect against liability and risk.
