Transnet Pipelines (TPL)

Spanning the Nation, Constantly, Consistently.

Extensive Reach Across Five Provinces

Our network spans KwaZulu-Natal, Free State, Mpumalanga, Gauteng, and North West, featuring:

An inland accumulation facility at Jameson Park, Gauteng (TM2), with a capacity of 180Ml

A 29Ml tank farm in Tarlton for storage and distribution via rail and road

Future Developments and Innovations

In 2024, we will commence the construction of a coastal terminal at Island View in Durban, enhancing our integrated rail and pipeline service. This development ensures the continuous supply of jet fuel to OR Tambo International Airport.

We are actively decommissioning the Durban to Johannesburg Pipeline (DJP) with a completion target of 2029. The DJP servitude from Durban to Kroonstad will be retained for potential future use based on ongoing studies.

Pioneering the Natural Gas Network

Aligned with South Africa’s energy demands, we are expanding our natural gas supply chain logistics by developing LNG midstream infrastructure.

In collaboration with Vopak Proprietary Limited, we are set to construct and operate an LNG terminal at Richards Bay.
